Why did we found CZILLI?
Because eating without it would just be too boring.
It all began with Christof's studies abroad in China. He actually wanted to study mechanical engineering there, but he fell in love with the cuisine. One small student restaurant in particular remained unforgettable: There, a jar of chili oil always sat on the table, elevating every dish to a new level.
Back in Austria, it became clear: this flavor was missing here. We couldn't find anything comparable in either restaurants or Asian shops in Graz. So we took the plunge and experimented ourselves – with select chilies, spices, and a lot of patience.
After numerous tests, the recipe was perfect: crispy, spicy, balanced. An oil that's more than just spicy—a taste experience never before experienced in our kitchen.
With CZILLI, we want to share this experience. That's why we founded our CZILLI brand – so that others can also go crazy for this unique topping.

How did we come up with the name CZILLI ? Carina Ziegler (Zotter) & Christof Ziegler – our initials have always been the same. It was important to us to create a personal connection to our brand and find a name that people won't forget.
